Dolls from around the world is our specialty!  The basis for our handcrafted dolls, are the children who came to America, from all over the world, during the immigration period between 1892 and 1954.  You can view some of our dolls simply by choosing one of the links to the left.  We hope you enjoy our dolls as much as well enjoy making them!  We make boys, too!

Each doll is named, and comes with a short story about his/her childhood and their trip to America.  The names and stories of our Ellis Island Dolls are based on real children who have come to Ellis Island.  For different reasons, these children were homeless upon their arrival to America, and their stories tell it all.  When you click on a doll link to the left, you will not only see some of the dolls we have made, but you can also read the stories that go along with each doll.  And, be sure to get an up-close view by clicking on each photo!

Our cloth dolls are made with tender loving care, to assure the utmost quality.  They stand 28" to 30" in height, have glass eyes and molded faces, resembling porcelian.  The dolls are completely handcrafted, right down to the clothing they wear.  We buy old second hand clothing for making the outfits, and this adds to the personality and uniqueness of each doll.  No two dolls are ever dressed alike!

Besides making dolls from Ellis Island, we also make other kinds of dolls, such as the indian and mountain man you see on the left menu.  These dolls don't generally come with a story, but upon request, we can include a story, based on information you provide for us.  We can customize any doll for you.  We accept requests, on any doll, so if you would like a certain doll, give us a call at (231) 269-3260 or send us an e-mail.  Visa and Mastercard are accepted, making payment easier for you.  If you e-mail your request, please include your telephone number, so we can call you and verify your request, and be sure to get your order correct.
